It shall be the purpose of this organization to provide leadership for the improvement of science teaching and learning; provide a means of regular communication among science education leaders; provide a support network for the discussion of issues and common interests; and to provide professional growth opportunities.
Vision Statement
The vision of the Tennessee Science Education Leadership Association (TNSELA) is to promote and cultivate excellence in science education leadership throughout the state.
Mission Statement
The mission of TNSELA is to support leadership for the improvement of science teaching and learning in order to:
- Promote and enhance the development of effective leadership practices as a means to improve science education.
- Provide opportunities for leaders and educators responsible for and/or interested in the leadership in science education to discuss, and to take action on matters of common interest and concern.
- Facilitate communication among leaders and stakeholders for science education.
- Support and disseminate research leading to the incorporation of best practices.
- Address science education issues with the appropriate agencies.
