Membership in TNSELA is open to all personnel in leadership roles who are concerned with, and interested in, the improvement of science education. This will include, but not be limited to, science department heads, coordinators, specialists, teacher advocates, lead teachers, consultants, directors of instruction, administrators, key leaders, professional employees of state government, and faculty in higher education.

TNSELA will recognize formal affiliation of other science leadership associations, including informal science organizations, provided these associations recognize the principles of TNSELA. Members of such associations should file a written request to be considered for membership in TNSELA. The President will receive and present the request to the Executive Committee who must approve all applications for affiliation by majority vote. Dues may be set at the annual meeting by  majority vote of those attending. Appropriate recognition of affiliation will be made at the annual meeting.
